- Rubberized Asphalt – Rubberized asphalt is a premium underlayment material that offers all the benefits of the other two types of underlayment. It is completely waterproof due to its higher percentage of asphalt and rubber polymer. It is designed with a sticky back and a protective membrane between the support and the roof deck. It’s the most expensive type of underlayment.
